Today on the show, we met with third year vet student Bailey Degroat to discuss the design of the large animal veterinary system, and how the need for high-quality vets is higher than ever. We talk about why we aren’t seeing as many people become vets like we used to and what things have changed that are making it difficult for food animal practitioners to enter the industry. Bailey gives us her unique perspective on the industry, what she’s learned on the job, and where she sees things headed in the future.

• The amount of student debt that veterinarians are walking away from school with.
• The differences between large and small veterinary practices and the struggles that each practice has. 
• Bailey’s thoughts on being a woman in the veterinary field and the stresses that that can have in such a labor intensive industry.
